I just got a notice in the mail that Barbara Barry will be making an appearance at my local ASID meeting. Unfortunately, I will be out of town that night. Perhaps I’ll treat myself to one of her delightful candles to make up for it…

Now THIS is my kind of candy. Intentional Chocolate. It is the intention of the manufacturers of this chocolate that, after eating it, you will “manifest optimal health and functioning at physical, emotional and mental levels, and in particular will enjoy an increased sense of energy, vigor and well-being for the benefit of all beings.”

Om Shanti. Gimme some.

Last night, I was up quite late working on AutoCAD homework. When I went to sleep, my mind was still buzzing with images of numbers, lines and shapes. Then, when I finally fell asleep, I had the most magical dream. In my dream, I was sitting with a fabulous group of designers in a modern, chic, fabulous Hotel that we had designed – in PARIS. At the end of my dream, I said to someone there, “I really do need to brush up on my French.” :) And then I woke up. Very happy.

In light of that, I am posting pictures of fabulous French hotels that I (obviously) did NOT design. All photos are via eye candy site designhotels.com.

First up, Hotel Bel Ami…

This one reminds me of the SJP bedroom in the SATC movie…

And then there was Hotel Gabriel Paris…this feels very much like another version of The Delano. The design intention was for people to come away detoxed/cleaned up. I love the clean lines and whimsical touches.

Mmm…it all makes you want to say Au Revoir and hop on a plane, oui?

I bet you never thought you’d hear those two phrases together. How in the hecklemadoodle can getting a tattoo make you MORE ORGANIZED? Ah, ye of little faith, check this fun, quirky product out.

I was on Gilt this morning and happened upon a line of jewelry that made me sit straight up in my seat and gawk. Normally, Gilt features designers with rings/accessories that I consider nice but not necessarily spectacular. However, the moment I saw Diana Broussard’s collection of rings, necklaces and bracelets, I was BLOWN AWAY. If you’re a member of Gilt, I implore you to go online to check out her collection. If you’re not and would like to be, shoot me an email and I’ll send you an invite.

Anyway, here is one of her spectacular pieces…

My dear old dad was an Alley Rat bar none. He could go into the alley, bring back a broken chair/table/lamp and turn it into a TREASURE. He had a special gift for digging up JUNK and giving it a new life. My mom still has a ton of his treasures in her home. (That’s a whole other post…) Anyway, when I saw this book today, it reminded me of my dad.

These sisters have a special gift for taking ordinary objects and turning them into extraordinary pieces. I’ve seen such books before but have always been sorely disappointed when I opened them up. This book is different. There is a a real soulfulness to it. Go check it out.
