The Romance of Blogging Revisited.

To be totally honest with you, I have a love/hate relationship with writing. When I first started REALLY getting into writing 12 years ago, I loved it. Writing, to me, seemed like the perfect way to reach out to others, experience new and exciting things and express myself. I felt totally free when I wrote.

But, then, somewhere along the way, I started to feel restricted and started to judge what I was writing. And writing became more and more of a chore. It felt like something I “should” do instead of something I love to do. And with more and more blogs, I started comparing my writing and what I was writing about to others and would inevitably come up feeling inadequate.

As time has gone on, I’ve felt more and more like I can’t “just write”…I have to be entertaining, fun, bubbly, perfect and chic all rolled into one. Yuk.

Yet, my original passion for blogging is still there. I recently discovered this with my Pinterest account. What I used to love to do on my blog (post beautiful pictures that truly represented who I am & explore all of the ways that I can put my two cents in about beauty), I now find myself doing on Pinterest.

And, ironically, I don’t have to write on Pinterest. It’s almost entirely visual. So, today, I thought I’d share with you a few of my Pinterest faves from my folder, “Romance.”
